Computer Science Instructor (Part Time)
COMPUTER AND INFORMATION SCIENCES Spelman College seeks a teacher-scholar dedicated to excellence in teaching and to the continued enhancement of the academic environment for students and colleagues. Founded in 1881, Spelman College is a private four-year liberal arts college located in Atlanta, GA. The oldest historically Black college for women in the United States, Spelman is a member of the Atlanta University Center Consortium and Atlanta Regional Consortium for Higher Education. All candidates are expected to have a demonstrated interest in liberal arts and sciences education, be able to contribute effectively to undergraduate teaching, assist in curriculum development, provide service to the department and College.
The Department Computer and Information Sciences invites applications for an instructor faculty position beginning August 2018. Candidates should be equally adept at teaching both introductory computer science courses for majors and non-majors, as well as upper-level advanced computer science theory and applications courses for those with prior teaching experience. Strengths in teaching, research, service and working with undergraduate research are preferred.
Qualifications: M.S. in Computer Science or closely related discipline with previous teaching experience is preferred. Review period will begin immediately.
