Job Summary

General Responsibilities: The Assistant Director(s) works with the Camp Program Director to achieve the objectives set for by the camp. Includes helping the Camp Program Director implement programs, schedule activities, organize events and manage staff. In the event that the Camp Program Director is absent, the Camp Assistant Director (s) will take on the duties of the Camp Program Director.

Specific Duties:

1. Responsible for assisting Camp Program Director in all aspects of camp.
2. Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the camp
3. Aids in training and supervising staff.
4. Assists in camp planning and program execution.
5. Completes projects assigned by Camp Program Director.
6. Monitors staff and camper progress and provides counsel when needed.
7. Evaluates camp staff and programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age. Background in recreation, education or a related field. At least one year supervisory experience in camping or recreation. Current CPR-PR and First Aid certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to working with children and adults from a variety of backgrounds.
