Job Summary

Mature and responsible students to serve as Summer Operations and Resident Assistants. This unique role combines responsibilities and coverage for the Summer Registration Desk and on-call duty for Skidmore student housing.
Summer Operations Assistants responsibilities include: providing excellent customer service to our summer guests, processing guest information, using a conference housing database, preparing guests materials, conducting quality walkthroughs of guest rooms, answering phones and emails, and other related duties as assigned. Individuals also serve as the point of contact to solve guest's concerns and assist fellow staff with questions that may arise, and provide support to Special Programs staff.
Residential Assistants responsibilities include: acting as liaisons between summer residents and the college administration. RAs will be present in their residential communities and accessible to students. RAs are students of the college, and as such, must know and comply with the policies and procedures of Skidmore College and the Office of Residential Life.

Summer Operations and Resident Assistants are required to work the Summer Registration Desk 25-35 hours per week (between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., 7 days a week with occasional later hours required), on-call 7 nights per month(rotating schedule) and most weekends required. Due to the dual responsibilities of this role, students may not work another job on campus. Remuneration is $11/hr. plus room.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum candidate qualifications: knowledge and familiarity of Skidmore's campus and Saratoga Springs area. Office or retail experience and customer service preferred, high proficiency with technology. Training is provided.
