Job Description Summary:

The Division of External Relations is seeking a Venue Operations Associate. This position reports to the Managing Director of Venue Administration.

Responsibilities include:
Evaluates and submits necessary work orders for maintenance issues as it relates to their assigned shift. Maintains accurate records on the status of all projects initiated. Responsible for the oversight of a variety of services and employees during assigned shift. Ensures that all requirements for clients and their associated events as well as the various groups, students, faculty and staff are being addressed.

Manages and oversees outside vendors and contractors, ensuring that all University guidelines and policies are being followed and timelines adhered to.

Is aware of all activities in the buildings and provides management support to clients. Serves as a liaison between the University community, outside clients and the various departments.

Responsible, as the management contact for the University Police Department, to ensure the safety and security of all patrons in addition to providing any required support with respect to emergency responsiveness.

Acts as the management contact for event related issues that may include Audio Visual, safety, housekeeping, meeting room set ups, catering and contractors. Coordinates repairs and maintenance of equipment, including the recommendations for replacements or new purchases. Adheres to all University energy conservation initiatives and take actions to support each endeavor.

Upon request, assists with the development and implementation of the building operation schedule for full time and student staff and training for operationally related assignments. Escalates and coordinates information and action steps as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
