Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia Center for Survey Research is seeking a bright, self-motivated individual for the position of Senior Project Coordinator. Applicants should have a Master's Degree in Sociology, Economics, Political Science, or a related Social Science (a Ph.D. in one of these fields is preferred), with demonstrated skills in survey research, including successful project management experience on multiple projects in an academic survey research setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a team and a strong sense of responsibility and work ethic.

The Senior Project Coordinator's primary responsibility will be managing research teams dealing with approximately 25 survey projects a year, including budgets, timelines, scheduling and assignments within those projects. The individual will use statistical software tools to analyze data and report results; and may also serve as P.I. on several projects. They will also ensure communication between clients, principal investigators and staff, assisting with management of research analysts, project assistants, and interns.

The position is contingent on yearly funding from contracts and, as outlined by University policies, is considered a restricted position.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge in designing and testing data collection instruments, data analysis, project management, and writing reports.
Understanding of advanced statistical techniques for the social sciences required.
Strong management and organization skills, excellent research and technical writing skills, excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to provide effective oral presentations for professional and nonprofessional audiences required.
