ANNUAL (12 months)
Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor Degree required, preferably in biological sciences or related field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least 1 year of experience in a biomedical research laboratory is preferred. Experience with basic molecular biology techniques, including mammalian cell culture, recombinant DNA techniques, western blotting, and DNA/RNA isolation and manipulation, highly desired. Animal handling and manipulation (mice) will be required, so either previous
experience, or desire to learn, will be needed.
License or certificate:
We are looking for a dedicated person who is excited about science to assist an established faculty member in performing experiments related to melanoma tumor development and progression These experiments involve human and mouse normal and cancer cell culture, transgenic/knockout mouse models and RNA and protein analysis.
Training on specific techniques will be provided, but incumbent will be expected to perform techniques independently in time. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required.
