Department Overview
The office of Orientation and Transition Programs is a department within the Division of Student Affairs and provides new students, continuing students, and family members with the tools necessary to make a smooth transition to UNT and toward graduation. Specifically, the position will serve as the coordinator to New Student Orientation and Eagle Camp, UNT's extended orientation program.

Job Description
The Orientation and Transition Programs office at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Student Services Coordinator working with Orientation and Eagle Camp.

This position is responsible for providing leadership to the university's orientation and extended orientation programs, the creation of first year transitional programs, and plays an integral role in the hiring and training of the university's orientation leader team. This position reports to the Director of Orientation and Transition Programs.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:

* Provides leadership to and assists with the implementation of all aspects of the Freshman and Transfer Orientation serving more than 10,000 new students each year.
* Responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of the Orientation Leader team, a group of 50 student leaders who assist with the new student orientation program.
* Coordinates, implements, and provides leadership to all aspects of Eagle Camp, UNT's extended orientation camp, including developing the program schedule, hiring and training the student leader team, and effectively marketing Eagle Camp which serves close to 200 students annually.
* Assists in the coordination and implementation of First Flight welcome week programs and transitional programming initiatives, including the TIME speaker kick-off event, and other signature welcome week programs.
* Serve as the co-chair to the university's Family Weekend and Sibling Day programs, bringing nearly 2,000 families to campus annually, by determining the program schedules, advertising the events to the campus community, and ensuring their full execution.
* Serve as the advisor to the freshman honor society, Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD), coordinating the recruitment of new members, planning an annual induction ceremony, and providing leadership to the group's executive board.
* Serve on the Academic Guidebook committee as a student affairs representative in partnership with the division of academic affairs.
* Monitor the department's facebook and twitter pages, taking an active role in answering questions of current and prospective students, and referring constituents to appropriate resources.
* Establish learning outcomes for all programs, and actively contribute to the department's assessment plan by completing program evaluations and executive summaries.
* Hire a graduate assistant and summer interns to provide support to new student program initiatives during the academic year and Orientation and Eagle Camp over the summer.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

* Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops.
* Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations.
* Experience in networking across departments and programs.
* Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.
* Some experience in customer service is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

Master's Degree in college student affairs, counseling, higher education or closely related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
* Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops.
* Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations.
