Peer tutors support students' learning by helping to strengthen their educational skills. Tutoring assist students in becoming better students, both for courses in which they are currently enrolled and for their future academic endeavors. Tutoring may be conducted one-on-one, in small or large groups, by appointment, or on a walk-in basis.
Tutors must be willing to perform other duties as required, including but not limited to: answering phones, scheduling appointments, assisting in opening and closing procedures, and cleaning study spaces. After being hired, tutors have the opportunity to earn Levels 1-3 of the CRLA (Certified Reading and Learning Association) certificate, which is an internationally recognized standard among learning centers.


In order to submit an application into the pool, you must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at FSU.
Qualified applicants will also meet additional minimum qualifications including a high school diploma or equivalent and recently completed some college coursework at FSU, and strong academic, interpersonal, and communication skills. Tutors must have at least a 3.0 GPA in all college-level coursework completed.
Ideal candidates will have a 3.3 GPA in completed classes in academic areas such as: accounting, biology, chemistry, computer science, economics, engineering, math, physics, psychology, statistics, and more.

Anticipated Salary Range

Minimum $8.50 per hour

Pay Plan

This is an OPS/temporary Job.


Maximum 10 hours per week. Schedule is flexible, as the ACE Learning Studio is open 6 days a week: Monday-Thursday 10am-10pm, Friday 10am-5pm, and Sunday 5pm-10pm.
