Department of Biological Science
The successful candidate will teach the first semester of general biology for majors (chemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, and physiology) in a large-lecture format to a diverse student population and potentially an upper-division course in the applicant's area of expertise. Participation in departmental activities and opportunities to further instructional expertise and professional development is also expected.
The position requires a PhD. in the biological sciences and a demonstrated interest in teaching at the undergraduate level, as well as experience with current scientific teaching approaches. We seek a creative individual with excellent interpersonal, written, and public speaking skills who can work independently and as part of a team. The applicant should be highly motivated to instruct, inspire, and mentor biology students early in their university experience.
