Office of Admissions


Responsible for day to day operations of telephone and email communications within the Office of Admissions, Office of the Registrar and Visitor Services.
Communicates via telephone with prospective and current students, parents, high school guidance counselors, faculty, and departmental representatives. Responds to inquiries regarding admissions, registration, graduation, and campus visits. Evaluates and interprets University policy and procedures and how it relates to an applicant's status for admission. Review applicant and student data to adequately counsel and/or make referrals. Works closely with both the Enrollment Management Specialist (51693) and Enrollment Management Representative (61110) to recommend and formulate policies and procedures to effectively and efficiently respond to phone calls.
Assists with operations of the front desk on a daily basis including the following: referring students to appropriate admissions staff, visitor center, academic departments, and various other offices or departments at the University; assisting prospective students (undergraduate, graduate, and international), parents, the general public, faculty, and department representatives with receipt of applications and supporting documentation (transcripts, test scores, etc.), admissions requirements, admissions policies/procedures, and Florida residency requirements.
Assists the Enrollment Management Specialist (51693) and Enrollment Management Representative (61110) with the selection, training and management of a team of 10-20 OPS student employees. Assists with managing the content on SharePoint including all training materials.


A high school diploma or equivalent and two years experience, or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years, is required for consideration. Qualified candidates will have experience maintaining effective communications via email and telephone, and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or comparable software. Customer service experience is required.

A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of experience relevant and related to the responsibilities of the job are preferred. We seek energetic candidates who are detail-oriented, organized, and can work well independently as well as in a team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to multi-task, and should have a strong sense of initiative with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently. Preferred candidates will be familiar with university admissions application processes, and should be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.


If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
