Provide professional advising to students in group or individual settings; responsible for vocational testing and assessment, program development and evaluation, and outreach activities.

Academic Advising

Identify/Assess/Document Student Academic goals

  • Expand Inclusive course opportunities
  • Coordinate course registration for Academy students
  • Coordinate with SDS
  • Develop/implement weekly curriculum
  • Develop/coordinate directed studies as needed
  • Organize parent meetings as needed

Social Advising and Coordination

  • Coordinate bi-monthly student progress meetings
  • Implement/track student growth
  • Coordinate PMC social assessment for all students
  • Advocate on/off campus through speaking engagements
  • Coordinate with campus departments to develop and implement social programming
  • Manage evaluation of social programming
  • Coordinate with KSU Housing to provide on-campus living options
  • Act as liaison between Academy families and KSU Housing
  • Coordinate with Residence Life to ensure student housing needs are met
  • Evaluate on-campus living options for Academy students

Case Management Services

  • Oversee initial needs assessment for students as needed
  • Implement/track student growth (assessment)
  • Conduct individual sessions with students as needed
  • Facilitate group sessions with students
  • Develop treatment plans as needed
  • Oversee on and off campus referrals as needed
  • Coordinate/collaborate with Counseling and Psych Services
  • Coordinate with on campus resources (student conduct, police, health clinic, etc)
  • Coordinate with parents and families as needed
  • Assist in coordinating transition/continuing ed

Intern and Volunteer Management

  • Collaborate with departments to identify student interns
  • Oversee intern orientation and training
  • Supervise daily roles and responsibilities of student interns
  • Evaluate student interns
  • Manage volunteer recruitment and positions
  • Oversee volunteer orientation
  • Manage student volunteer pairing
  • Organize group volunteer events

Administrative Duties

  • Manage program risk assessments
  • Conduct evaluation of current policies and procedures
  • Oversee the creation of new policies and procedures
  • Assist staff in planning PCP, graduation, Pizza Meet n Greet, Open Houses, Guests, etc.
  • Day to day assignments and tasks as needed
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Execute proposal writing
  • Conduct research

Minimum Hiring:$17.16

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with post-secondary education

Master's in Social Work or Counseling

Experience working with different populations, such as people with disabilities
