Job description

Position Summary

Assist metadata expert, data wrangler, database designer, and query engine developer to review and standardized datasets according to project standards. Compile and summarize data findings and participate in reporting to the project team. Acts as a resource to internal and external individuals regarding data and metadata. Research literature in order to maintain a current knowledge of laboratory research methods and terminology. The job requires: knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in history or other related social science fields; experience using Microsoft Excel; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Work Environment: 80% computer work 

Experience with Open Refine software, Dublin Core standard, linked data preferred. 

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge normally acquired from specialized training such as that acquired in one year of Data Processing, Key Punching or database entry; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in data processing, key entry or database entry; requires spreadsheet and/or word processing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications
