About the College/Department
IT Services provides central information technology support for the University of Arkansas, supporting a user base of over 30,000 faculty, staff, and student users. With over a hundred fulltime employees and a budget that exceeds $17 million, IT Services provides technical resources and services to support university users in teaching, learning and working smarter, faster, and safer. IT Services is platform diagnostic, supporting Mac and Windows on the desktop, Windows and Linux server environments, and both enterprise and opensource systems and software.

Summary of Job Duties
The Information Security Solutions Architect supports executes and helps maintain various initiatives of the Information Security team to improve the security posture of the university. This position works to be a subject matter expert in security technologies and information systems, learn technical expertise in areas such as network protocols, intrusion detection, vulnerability assessment, and identity and access management. The Information Security Solutions Architect reports to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), supports day-to-day information security operations through problem analysis, solutions development, and implementation. This position prepares reports and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.

- The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, information technology, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
- At least five years of experience in information technology, including two years demonstrated experience in information security

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Ability to get experience with open source tools and technologies including firewall products, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, Identity and Access Management concepts
- Ability to learn or have familiarity with laws and regulations applicable to higher education such as FERPA, HIPAA, etc.
