Summary of Job Duties

Daily care (feeding, water, lights, heat, ventilation, disease monitoring) of animals being used for nutritional and physiological research. Follow established guidelines for animal care, biosecurity and any special requests of researchers. Train and supervise student works in the proper care of research animals. Assist with experiments and lab tests. Assist with hatches, sorts and terminations. Wing band birds and clean hatchery. Assist in processings, weighs, clean outs, etc. Help with artificial inseminations. Perform daily sanitation of facilities. Assist with restricted feedings.

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of specialized training in physical science or related field.
