With high-level direction from the supervisor, the employee will independently plan, execute, and analyze experiments that involve bacterial expression and chromatographic purification of proteins, synthesis of RNA, and manipulation of DNA and related molecular biology techniques. The employee will provide day-to-day instruction and assistance to student researchers regarding basic lab techniques. The employee will be responsible for coordinating and ordering materials and supplies, including inventory tasks, along with coordinating and executing other routine laboratory maintenance tasks.

Contingent Funding: The salary for this position is based on grant funding and; therefore, continued employment is based upon the availability of these funds.
Minimum hourly rate: 12.16
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree and related research experience.
Bachelor of Science in a life sciences field, e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, or Chemistry required
MS in a life science field preferred
2 Years relevant experience preferred
Preferred Skills: Expertise in manipulating and purifying proteins and nucleic acids.
