Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
Responsibilities include degree program planning and implementation, advocacy for all members of the department, planning for programmatic growth (including the possible creation of a School of Psychology and/or partnerships with SHSU’s planned medical school), faculty recruitment and evaluation, budget and resource management, student advising and recruitment, teaching in one’s area of expertise, adhering to SACS and APA standards and coordinating assessment efforts, supporting faculty and student research, fostering excellence in teaching, research, and service among the faculty, and other duties requested or assigned by the administration.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Qualifications include a doctorate in psychology (area open).
Experience Required for the Position
A record of excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service.
Other Requirements for the Position
Previous administrative experience is preferred.
