DUTIES: Instruction of 12 credits or their equivalent per semester in any of the four curriculum areas: H.B.S.E., policy, research, and practice. Specific courses to be taught may include Practice with Individuals, HBSE, and Mental Health Diagnosis. Additional requirements are: program development and maintenance; service to the University, including departmental meetings and committee work. If needed, may serve as coordinator of emphasis; participation in area community activities; and, continued professional growth as evidenced by research, publication, involvement in professional associations and continuing education.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with terminal, earned degree appropriate to discipline. ABD accepted. Knowledge and skills in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. Evidence of potential for scholarly/creative work consistent with a teaching university.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • In depth knowledge of generalist and clinical social work practice.
  • Knowledge of EPAS for CSWE.
  • Knowledge of research methodologies.
  • Generalist and clinical social work practice skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent community relations skills.
  • Ability to apply research principles while engaging students.
  • Ability to develop or adapt new course curriculum.
  • Ability to develop hybrid and online courses.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Social Work or a doctorate from an accredited institution in a related discipline; AND
an earned M.S.W. from an accredited social work program with a minimum of two years post masters social work practice experience;
Experience in teaching a minimum of 3 different courses at a post-secondary education institution as indicated on the curriculum vitae.

Experience teaching or learning in an online environment as indicated on the curriculum vitae.

Physical Requirements:
Work is normally performed in a typical classroom/office work environment. Lifting up to 10 lbs.
