Job Summary/Basic Function: The Department of Science and Mathematics, College of Arts and Sciences, seeks applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, tenure-track appointment beginning fall 2018. The appointment is for an Assistant Professor of Chemistry position; specialization sought is analytical chemistry, especially as related to water chemistry. This faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses in general chemistry, chemistry of water and waste water, analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, and courses related to areas of interest. Other teaching assignments may be made as needed by the Department. Candidates with the ability to develop collaborations with the Institute for Water Resource Science and Technology are preferred. The College seeks excellence in instruction, research, and service. Typical teaching load for active researchers is a 3/3. Summer teaching assignments may be available but are not guaranteed.

Work Hours: Teaching assignments may include day, night, or weekend classes.

Qualifications

Education

Necessary Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution. ABD accepted if the requirements for the Ph.D. degree are completed by May 31, 2018.

A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Chemistry.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience

Necessary Qualifications: A minimum of one year college or university teaching experience.
