Pay Rate: $3,000 per course per semester.

Job Summary/Basic Function: The Biology Program seeks adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate courses in General Biology I and II, and General Biology II Laboratory.

Work Hours: Teaching assignments may include day, night, and/or weekend courses depending upon departmental needs.

Special Instructions to Applicants: Texas A&M University-San Antonio (TAMU-SA) is a new comprehensive university in the established Texas A&M University System serving students from a culturally diverse and largely non-traditional population. The university was created to address the educational needs in South San Antonio and surrounding areas. The current enrollment is approximately 6,500.

Letters of recommendation should be written on referee letterhead, be less than one year old, and must bear the writer's original signature.

Qualifications

Education

Necessary Qualifications: An earned Master's degree in Biology from a regionally accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. in Biology, from a regionally accredited institution.

Experience

Necessary Qualifications: Experience and interest in teaching undergraduates in a culturally diverse, first generation college/university population.

Preferred Qualifications: Broad training in biology.

Research experience and a good understanding of experimental design, lab report writing, and the scientific method.

Experience teaching a range of undergraduate courses in biology.

Experience with a non-traditional commuter-university setting.

Experience with a culturally diverse student body

Other Requirements or Other Factors
