Job Summary/Basic Function: The College of Arts and Sciences invites applicants for a three-year-renewable, full-time, non-tenure-track English Composition lecturer who will also serve as Assistant Director of the university's Writing Center. This position will begin in Fall 2018 and will have a base 4/4 teaching load with 25% reassigned time for duties related to the mission of the Writing Center. Teaching of both lower and upper division undergraduate courses is expected. Summer teaching assignments may be available but are not guaranteed.

Work Hours: Flexible to suit course schedule. Teaching assignments may include day, night, or weekend classes.

We cannot accept transcripts issued directly to the candidate. If transcripts are from an international institution, it is the responsibility of the prospective faculty member to have the transcripts translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.

Qualifications

Education

Necessary Qualifications: Master's degree in English or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.

A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in English.

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in English, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.

Experience

Necessary Qualifications: A minimum of one year college or university teaching experience.

Experience with Writing Center pedagogy and administration.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with contemporary instructional technologies such as learning management systems and e-portfolios.

Broad training in English and experience teaching all levels of an undergraduate English curriculum.

Willingness to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Investment in the needs of a non-traditional, first-generation, culturally diverse student body.
