Minot State University’s Department of Nursing invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Nursing. This appointment will be at the instructor or assistant professor level, depending on teaching experience, starting fall 2018. The Nursing Department is located within the College of Education and Health Sciences, an interdisciplinary college that includes the Department of Addiction Studies, Psychology and Social Work; the Department of Communication Disorders; the Department of Teacher Education and Human Performance; and the Department of Special Education.
This Department of Nursing Faculty position will provide didactic and clinical teaching in the undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in a traditional face-to-face environment and/or online environment. The teaching load for this position is 12 credits (each fall and spring) and possibly classes during the summer term. The person will advise students, serve on department and university committees, and make scholarly contributions to the nursing community. Participation in curriculum development and program evaluation within the department is expected. Additional opportunities for teaching are possible.
This is a tenure-track position with a nine-month contract. A master’s degree in nursing is required. A terminal degree in nursing is preferred. Other required qualifications include: current registered nursing licensure or eligibility for licensure in North Dakota, excellent oral and written communication skills; a demonstrated desire to contribute to the nursing education community through service and scholarship; and a desire to join a team of nurse educators who enthusiastically work together to engage students in the study and application of nursing.
