The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2018. We seek an individual who will strengthen our aerospace engineering research and educational programs. Applicants from all areas of aerospace engineering are welcome; of particular interest are applicants with disciplinary expertise in aerodynamics, structures, and/or system optimization, who are applying this expertise to design the next generation of aerospace vehicles. Preference will be given to applicants who have synergies with existing faculty.
Applicants are expected to have a doctorate from an accredited university in aerospace engineering or a closely related field, by the time of employment. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a strong publication record, recruit and supervise graduate students, teach core undergraduate and graduate aerospace courses, develop a sponsored research program, collaborate with other faculty, and engage in service to the university and to the aerospace engineering profession.
