Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia department of Information Technology Services (ITS) Enterprise Storage and Computing Systems group seeks an individual with strong enterprise computing platforms security background. Primary responsibilities will be the design and maintenance of a robust security stance for an enterprise hosting Windows and Linux servers. The engineer will develop and maintain the appropriate documentation related to the securing of the operating systems and common applications. The engineer will be responsible for handling small to medium projects and producing related operational documentation.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Microsoft Windows and/or Linux Server Administration and security oversight.

Installation of server security agents and knowledge of their purpose and use. Expertise in log analysis, and what log content should be retained.

Demonstrated ability to communicate high level complex technical information to a generalist audience both verbally and in writing.
In-depth knowledge of, and experience with, enterprise computing systems operating systems and common applications.
