Temp salaries generally start within the range of $16.00 - $20.00 per hour for this type of position. The initial two-week training period will be compensated at $14.00 per hour.
UVa Temp Services has created a new temporary job category for advanced administrative professionals. The University is committing to a two-week paid training program for 10 exceptional temporary employees that possess superior interpersonal skills, technical skills, flexibility, work ethic, experience, and proven success in a senior level administrative or project management role, and willingness to commit to long-term temporary work. If selected into this pilot program, the individual will receive the required training for many of the highly sought-after Integrated System responsibilities. This training will enable "Super Temps" to contribute immediately to departments and fill roles not otherwise possible by temporary employees. Upon completion of the two-week training, job placement is anticipated but not guaranteed, as available positions are dependent on the needs of the University.
The training program includes: An Introduction to UVa; Integrated System Finance and Human Resources training, including specific training in the Human Resources, Labor Distribution, Grants Management, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable modules, [email protected], I-9 Online, and the Student Information System. Participants will also receive advanced training in MS Word and Excel, available through SkillSoft, an online training catalog and complete online modules that are mandatory for all UVa employees including IT Security Awareness and Emergency Preparedness. This is a highly competitive process.
