Posting Summary:
The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology is seeking a Lab and Research Tech 1. Position assists in routine laboratory research using and developing specialized techniques. Incumbent is responsible for completion of projects assigned. Responsibilities include participation in planning experiments, analysis of data, and providing input into the interpretation of data.

Qualified applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year laboratory experience, which may include student experience. Bachelor's degree in related science is preferred and may substitute for experience. Applicants must have knowledge of chemistry, statistics, advanced biology, biochemistry, and mathematics; ability to design and modify experiments; knowledge of laboratory equipment and apparatus; and ability to work with animals on a daily basis. Proficiency in computer programs for data compilation and evaluation, and MicroSoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.

This position is restricted and contingent upon the continuation of funding.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of chemistry, statistics, advanced biology, biochemistry, and mathematics.
2. Ability to design and modify experiments.
3. Knowledge of laboratory equipment and apparatus.
4. Ability to work with animals on a daily basis.
