The College of Arts and Sciences, University of Virginia, is seeking a full-time, twelve-month Assistant Dean for a non-tenure track, renewable three-year term appointment as Assistant Professor, General Faculty. The Assistant Dean in the College provides academic oversight, coordinates advising, and administers the rules of the faculty for approximately 700-1200 undergraduates. The Assistant Dean will teach one course a year in an academic department of the College, provide leadership in the administrative programs of the College that support the undergraduate experience, and perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the Associate Dean. The successful candidate will be entering Arts & Sciences in the midst of curricular change; interdisciplinary experience preferred but not required.
Qualifications include an appropriate terminal degree in the liberal arts and sciences (at the time of application) and a demonstrated pedagogic engagement with the liberal arts and sciences.
