Posting Summary:
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to perform research in the area of soft matter theory and computational simulation. This is a one-year appointment; however, the appointment may be renewed for two additional one-year terms, contingent upon available funding and satisfactory performance.

Completion of the Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or a related discipline is required by appointment start date. In addition, the successful candidate should have a scientific background in statistical mechanics and numerical simulations. Candidates must possess a proven ability to design novel scientific investigations and interpret their results, as well as draft papers and publish in high-quality scientific journals. Candidates are expected to provide a leadership role within the lab and to assist in the training of both graduate and undergraduate students.
