Posting Summary:
The Department of Neurology with the support of the School of Medicine and the University of Virginia's Provost office, is initiating the coordinated hiring of faculty across the University in the area of neurodegeneration; a designated strategic area of interest. The department seeks applications for a tenured/tenure-track open rank faculty position (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). The applicant should hold an M.D. or M.D., Ph.D. degree and be able to demonstrate outstanding achievement in the field of neurodegeneration and memory disorders. Preference will be given to candidates whose research aligns with the strengths of the Department of Neurology. In addition to competitive start-up packages, the successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities and collaborations in a collegial environment.

This position is part of the pan-University neuroscience initiative. This cross-Grounds initiative builds on momentum of the UVA Brain Institute and will help enable the expanding neuroscience undergraduate major, promote collaborative activity across College of Arts and Sciences, School of Medicine and School of Engineering and Applied Science, and ensure continuing prominence of neuroscience scholarship, education, and research. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with colleagues across Grounds, as well as with the UVA Brain Institute to advance the University's strategic interest in neuroscience, broadly conceived.
