The Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of Virginia seeks a Research Associate to conduct research in the area of image-guided drug delivery. The desired skillset includes ultrasound imaging (including contrast ultrasound), with in-depth understanding of ultrasound-particle interaction, formulation of drug-carrier particles capable of ultrasound triggering, and in vivo testing in small animal studies. Potoacoustics experience is desirable. Experience with radioisotopes and drug biodistribution studies is desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to continuously write grants to further his/her career (including but not limited to K99s and American Heart transition awards).
Applicants must have a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree by the start date as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. Eligibility for NIH postdoctoral fellowship funding is important, but not required.
