The Promoting Healthy Adolescent Development (PHAD) Lab in the UVA Psychology Department is currently seeking a Project Coordinator for 32 hours per week. The PHAD Lab focuses on processes of risk and resilience among marginalized adolescents and emerging adults. The primary responsibilities of this position include supporting the collection of data via in person focus groups with college students and scrapping of internet data from various social media platforms. The Project Coordinator will organize and oversee data collection (including participant recruitment, collection of participant consent and assent, and handling participant compensation). The incumbent will manage the transcription of open-ended data and the qualitative data in DeDoose and will also be responsible for coding data and training and overseeing research assistants who will also code and help analyze all study data. The coordinator is responsible for keeping in contact with research assistants, graduate students, and the primary investigators (Professors Noelle Hurd & Sophie Trawalter), and by quickly addressing any issues that arise in the lab.
This position is restricted and contingent upon continued funding.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Familiarity with data scrapping and analysis of social-media-based data.
