The Department of Otolaryngology ? Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Virginia Health System is seeking a surgeon-scientist to join its Division of Head and Neck Oncologic and Microvascular Surgery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in basic science, translational or clinical research and be highly motivated to build productive collaborations. The position will provide dedicated research time, access to state-of-the-art research resources, senior mentorship, and enthusiastic scientific collaborators in a collegial environment. In addition to research activities, responsibilities will include patient care at the UVA Hospital and Outpatient Clinics and at the UVA Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center, as well as education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Candidates must have an MD and be board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Completion or pending completion of fellowship training in head and neck oncologic surgery or extensive experience is required. Evidence of academic productivity is highly valued. Rank and compensation is dependent upon qualifications, experience and scholarly achievement.
