Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia's Department of Plastic Surgery seeks a highly-motivated individual to provide general and clinical administrative support for its Augusta clinic office. Duties include updating registration information, patient demographics, guarantor information, insurance information, scheduling patient appointments and procedures, signing in and/or checking out patients and collecting patient payments as well as insurance verification, obtaining and entering insurance referrals and obtaining and entering outpatient authorizations. Additional duties include data entry, telephone reception, customer service and support services to the clinical team such as coordinating meetings, providing clerical support for grant initiatives, coordinating licensure and credentialing documents, making travel arrangements, transcribing academic letters and preparing physician correspondence.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of administrative experience. An associate's degree and 1-2 years of experience in a medical office environment are preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to self-motivate are essential to success in this position. Strongly prefer someone with EPIC access and experience on EPIC Cadence and OpTime.

This position will work 24 hours per week with the opportunity to flex up on an as needed basis.

This position is restricted and contingent upon funding.
