The Department of Religious Studies at the University of Virginia invites applications for a Post-doctoral Research Associate and Lecturer in Religious Studies, with a specialization in Theology and Ethics. This position is for one academic year and has an anticipated start date of July 25, 2018.
The successful candidate will be conversant in and have a demonstrated research agenda on issues of religious ethics and modern religious thought. Additional capacities that are desirable include: attention to Christianity in its global dimensions; comparative theology and/or religious pluralism; comparative ethics.
The successful candidate will teach three courses over the course of the academic year, and will carry on a program of research as well. They will be expected to participate in the vibrant extracurricular academic life of the department, and especially in the theology, ethics, and culture field.
Applicants must have a PhD degree in hand by August 1, 2018.
