Posting Summary:
The School of Engineering and Applied Science's Department of Systems and Information Engineering at the University of Virginia is seeks a Senior Fiscal Technician. The successful candidate will serve as project manager for the department's budget, including accounting, budget projections, financial analysis, purchasing, and account reconciliation and other administrative responsibilities including special projects for the department faculty and staff as needed.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly, work effectively with little supervision, and operate as a willing team member with the central administration and leadership across the department and school. This position reports to the Department Chair and the Administrative Assistant to the Chair.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent required with documented experience in finance or accounting. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications is also required. Preference will be given for those candidates who have experience with UVA's integrated system (Oracle Financial, UBI reporting, and [email protected]), Chrome River, Research UVa and effort certification and Labor Scheduling Process.

?Ability to evaluate and apply financial information.

? Working knowledge of fiscal operations. Ability to analyze and present information.

?Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication in daily interactions. Ability to clearly articulate specific information relative to aligned financial functions.

? Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Provide direct support to leaders, as needed. Complete tasks without immediate supervision.

?Proficiency in computer applications and working knowledge of various database and software programs. Can interpret information and apply to daily work.

? Grasp the University's educational mission, strategic aims, and programs.

Must have knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word
