Posting Summary:
The Director of UVA Clubs and Global Engagement program is part of the University Advancement and works to foster lifelong connections that strengthen the relationship that all alumni, parents, and friends have with the University of Virginia. The position is responsible for supervising a team of regional engagement officers to provide volunteer management, training and board development for over 700 volunteer board members in over 100 UVA Club networks worldwide.

This position oversees the UVA Club program's development and implementation of over 1,000 engagement events each year that focus on admission and new student outreach, athletic activities, community service, educational and cultural activities, networking and social events. This position works closely with University Advancement, Schools, Units, Centers and the Alumni Association.

The ideal candidate will possess the exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence necessary to work within the University community. Excellent written and oral communications skills are required. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to plan, organize and implement strategies; a strong customer-service orientation and consensus-building skills; the ability to guide and mentor employees; an ability to establish priorities; a strong attention to detail; and will possess exceptional project planning and organizational skills. A Bachelor's degree and at least four years' experience in direct volunteer, student or alumni programming is required. Experience in the supervision of employees is required.

Frequent travel will be required as well as some evening and weekend work.

Ability to travel with frequent overnight and some weekend work.
