The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging at the University of Virginia has expanded its Interventional Neuroradiology practice through development of a growing service with an adjacent community hospital system in Richmond, Virginia. This position involves treatment and management of complex cerebrovascular and spine diseases in a practice setting that encompasses a 60+ mile radius. Therefore, commuter travel in the Central Virginia region and associated on-call responsibilities will be involved. Rank and salary will be based on experience and history of achievement.
Candidates must have an MD or its equivalent and be fellowship-trained in diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology, have CAQs for diagnostic neuroradiology, and be proficient with state-of- the-art endovascular cerebrovascular treatment options and vertebral augmentation. Candidates must also have the ability to independently manage critically-ill patients with complex cerebrovascular disease (stroke, SAH, etc.). Candidates will be expected to be actively engaged in the marketing, business development, relationship building and growth of the services as well as providing education to hospital and emergency medical staff and community providers. Participation in and leading quality improvement initiatives will also be requisite.
