The University of Virginia's School of Engineering and Applied Science seeks candidates for a PostDoctoral Research Associate with experience in nanoelectronic material and device modeling to study magnetic materials and spin dynamics, to support a research initiative in the Charles L. Brown Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The primary tasks will be performing theoretical studies of novel magnetic materials and devices and collaborating with experimentalists. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is appointed annually and renewed for additional one-year increments up to three years, contingent upon available funding and satisfactory performance.
Candidates must have a PhD in electrical engineering, physics, materials science or a related area focused on theory, modeling and simulation by the appointment start date.
Preference will be given to candidates with familiarity with solid state devices and quantum transport. Experience in 'first principles' calculations on magnetic materials and/or micromagnetic simulations will be preferred.
