The Cancer Center is seeking a Lab and Research Tech 1. Position will be trained to perform a variety of assays and techniques of moderate difficulty under supervision with the expectation that the candidate will be able to move toward independent work. Techniques include, but are not limited to: immunohistochemistry, cell culture, flow cytometry, and microscopy. The incumbent may also participate in the ordering of supplies and inventory control for the lab, routine cleaning and lab maintenance of equipment, and monitoring supply inventories to include ordering and receiving. The incumbent will also be trained in preparing cancer vaccines for patients on clinical trials and maintaining supplies for the vaccines.
Qualified applicants must have an Associate's degree or higher, including at least one course on human immunology or cancer immunology, and have a minimum of two years of laboratory experience, which may include experience gained as a student. MicroSoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
This position is restricted and contingent upon the continuation of funding.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Proficient in verbal and written English.
2. Basic lab skills including sterile technique, pipetting small and large volumes, and general lab maintenance.
