UVA Printing and Copying Services is currently seeking an experienced, highly organized, customer-oriented Production Manager. This position will report to the Director of Printing & Copying Services and will manage the department's production area daily operations. Regular duties will include supervision of staff and oversight of the department's primary production areas to ensure effective use of available resources and efficient production of high quality printed and graphic arts materials to consistently exceed customer expectations. The Production Manager will be responsible for all areas of print and copy production at the main facility, including press operations, production copy equipment, bindery and finishing, mail preparatory, pre-printed fulfillment services, and delivery. The Production Manager will provide direct supervision to working supervisors and leads, as well as other production personnel.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of four years of printing management experience; a bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts Management, Business Administration or a printing related field, or equivalent substantial recent and relevant job experience managing large-scale print and mail preparation operations. Demonstrated working knowledge of state-of-the-art printing production technology, as well as excellent organization, supervisory, and communication skills are also required.
Printing and Copying Services is a self-supporting department where revenues are locally generated. This position is funded by local funding sources, and is considered a restricted University Staff position.
