Posting Summary:
The Curry School of Education seeks a Senior Student Services Generalist for a new position in the Curry Online Programs Department. S/HE is the primary contact for perspective and enrolled students in the online programs offered at the Curry School of Education. The incumbent engages in significant front-line contact with students that typically involves mediation, and advocacy.
The incumbent collects and analyzes data and feedback from students and will initiate and strengthen outreach to various student populations in an effort to boost recruitment and retention rates for a specific department or program.
The Senior Student Services Generalist addresses tier one level technical questions related to online learning. This positon works independently to apply and interpret policy under the direction of academic leaders. The incumbent works to improve student processes and procedures, make recommendations, and implement changes. The senior generalists may coordinate the work of others and will supervise undergraduate and graduate student staff.

A bachelor's degree is required as is at least three years of experience in student services in higher education.The ability to follow and clearly communicate admissions policies and procedures to a diverse clientele from various backgrounds, with varying levels of knowledge is essential.Knowledge of higher education administrative principles is required. A proven ability to analyze information and recommend improvements to programs or processes is essential. S/He must possess extensive knowledge of multiple areas in student services with the ability to synthesize information, provide advice, and address needs independently. Advanced knowledge of University, state, and federal policies and regulations and ability to conduct activities and make decisions according to ethical standards is required. Advanced ability in navigating University databases and systems and portal sites and presenting information to University employees, faculty, and senior leaders is required.
The Student Service Generalist must demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills. A Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, as well as collaborate with senior officials is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience with higher education student services in an online learning community. Proficiency with learning management systems such as Sakai, Blackboard, Canvas or D2L is preferred.
