Posting Summary:
The Division of Infectious Diseases and International Health at the University of Virginia is actively seeking a Data Analyst to support multiple international observational and clinical trials in enteric infectious diseases. Specific tasks include monitoring completion of data collection, performing quality control of collected data including reconciliation of observed inconsistencies and creation of reports for study sites, creation and maintenance of data dictionaries, data cleaning and manipulation to prepare for analysis, and performing descriptive analyses. Opportunities to develop and carry out additional analyses and to produce scholarly work may arise out of these projects but are not the focus of the position. Minimal international travel may be involved. This position will work closely with several principal investigators in the Division and will require diligence and excellent communication.

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree. A Master's degree or PhD in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a public health-related science is preferred. Incumbent must be proficient in database management and have experience with R and/or SAS statistical programming languages. The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to work independently with a high attention to detail, and to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team is required. Research experience including familiarity with study design, study management, primary data collection, data manipulation and data analysis is preferred. International research experience is preferred.

This position is restricted and is contingent upon the continuation of funding.
