The Jiang lab is seeking a research specialist to join their lab. We are located within the Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics Department at the University of Virginia. The candidate will use biochemical and genetic approach to help address scientific questions being investigated in the lab. The candidate will be matched with close mentorship, but is expected to independently carry out experiments.
About the Jiang Lab: The broad interest of our laboratory is how gene regulation at the chromatin, transcriptional, and post-transcriptional levels controls the stability and plasticity of cell identity, how dysregulation of these mechanisms lead to diseases especially cancer, and how we may develop novel molecules to combat these diseases based on these mechanisms.
Candidates must have a Bachelor (or equivalent) degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Biomedical Science, Development, Genomics, or a related field in hand by appointment start date; and at least four years' laboratory experience with multiple publications. Experience in directly working with animal models is required.
