Posting Summary:
The Motivate Lab in the Center of Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning seeks qualified applicants for a Research Specialist Intermediate. The Research Specialist Intermediate - Motivate Lab provides data management support on several large-scale quantitative research projects at various stages of completion. Responsibilities include managing data entry and cleaning across multiple data sets; creating lab processes and guidelines around how to manage data; and conducting data analyses by utilizing one or more statistical software systems.

A bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Science, Sociology, or a related discipline is required. A minimum three years' experience in data management and statistical analysis is required. A master's degree is preferred and may substitute for experience. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required, as is the ability to interact effectively with a diverse team of internal and external constituencies. Ability to work with large-scale data sets and create data reports is a must. Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate good judgment is essential. Strong organizational skills, an attention to detail, and ability to multi-task is also required. Experience working with large-scale data sets for social science research and/or educational research is preferred. Knowledge of social-psychological interventions and motivation is also preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word), and statistical research software such as R or SPSS is essential.
