Posting Summary:
The Department of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese at the University of Virginia Department seeks applications to fill Lecturer positions in Spanish as Academic General Faculty (tenure-ineligible) to begin with the 2018-2019 academic year. Initial appointment would be 3 years with possibility of renewal based on satisfactory teaching performance and evidence of professional development. The course load for a full-time position is three courses per semester with administrative service to the department.

Subject areas of particular need include, but are not limited to, teaching language and culture undergraduate courses in Spanish.

Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching. A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the college or university level in the U.S. is required. Experience using E-portfolio Pedagogy in foreign language teaching is required. Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish is required. An M.A. in Spanish or Applied Linguistics (with a focus on Spanish) at the time of application is required.
