The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia is seeking a Research Associate to work in the Child Health Research Center under the supervision of Dr. Sean R. Moore.
The successful candidate will perform research using both laboratory and clinical research approaches to understand how aging and circadian rhythms influence gastrointestinal epithelial responses to pathogens. In addition, the candidate will participate in ongoing efforts to understand tropical/environmental enteropathy using human specimens and mouse models under development. The incumbent will also be expected to actively participate in lab meetings, present results at national/international meetings, and participate in endeavors to publish the results of laboratory findings.
A PhD and/or MD is required by the start date. Experience performing bench-top experiments is required. Previous experience in research in renal arterial malformations is preferred.
