The Department of Pediatrics' Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Virginia and University of Virginia Children's Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist at the Assistant/Associate Professor level (tenure eligible or tenure ineligible) to focus on stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies. Successful applicants will have a track record of clinical excellence and interest or expertise in clinical/translational research and clinical trials. Emphasis is placed on the ability to foster interactions between laboratory and clinical investigators and to participate in or lead multidisciplinary clinical working groups focused on the design and conduct of clinical trials and correlative science in the hematologic malignancies and/or CAR T cell therapy. Successful candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to the practice and teaching of clinical pediatric hematology/oncology, and have specific training and expertise in stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies. Salary is dependent upon qualifications.
Candidates must have an MD or DO and be board-eligible or board-certified as well as have completed a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology. To be considered for the tenure-eligible position, candidates must have experience in basic, translational, or clinical research and a strong interest in a career in academic medicine. Experience leading translational and/or clinical trials is preferred.

The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology is currently comprised of 6 full time board certified hematologist/oncologists and 4 nurse clinicians, 2 social workers, a child life specialist, and an education consultant. The Division has outstanding collaborative working relationships with our general pediatricians as well as other pediatric subspecialists, our surgical colleagues, and our colleagues in adult medicine.
