Posting Summary:
University Advancement is hiring an Assistant Director of Reunion Giving.

The Office of Reunion Giving works to identify, cultivate and solicit reunion prospects who have the potential to make leadership annual gifts, major gifts and planned gifts. The Office works closely with lead Chairs/Co-Chairs and reunion giving volunteers.

The Assistant Director is expected to travel nationwide with a goal of approximately 100 visits during the fiscal year. The Assistant Director is responsible for solicitation strategies by personal visits, volunteer solicitations, direct mail or email solicitations or various other social media.

The Assistant Director will recruit, educate and manage lead Chairs/Co-chairs, and between 35-100 giving volunteers in each assigned two-four reunion classes, and manage strategies for the assigned classes.

This position requires extensive public contact with high-level alumni, donors, and volunteers and will work closely with University Advancement, Schools/Units, Athletics, Alumni Association and various other constituents across Grounds. The Assistant Director is responsible for managing travel expenses and budget. She/he will attend liaison meetings to learn about fundraising efforts at each school/unit and attend fundraising training opportunities at UVA.

The qualified candidate will have experience in one or more of the following: fundraising, development, volunteer management, alumni affairs, or engagement. Requirements for this position also include excellent written and oral communications skills; an ability to plan, organize and implement strategies; a proven ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people; the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and have previous fundraising experience.

Strong customer-service orientation and consensus-building skills.

Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

Exceptional project planning skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and communications skills.

Ability to travel nationwide and work on weekends if needed.
