Posting Summary:
The Senior Data Specialist for the Office of the Dean within UVA's School of Engineering and Applied Science will provide data analysis and support for numerous offices throughout the Engineering School. The role will coordinate data research and reporting efforts through various offices and departments within the school to further evaluation and directed programmatic decisions with intent to measure and improve efficacy of current efforts and works. The role will report directly to an associate dean and will take collaborative leadership on numerous data driven efforts.

Duties include collecting, blending, unifying, and securely managing various data sets for multiple offices within the Engineering School; overseeing and performing analysis of information to identify, interpret, and report trends or patterns within data sets; synthesizing analysis with the creation of data visualizations, graphs, reports, and presentations to guide programmatic decisions; relationship management and translation of data for both technical and non-technical audiences; securely storing and protecting confidential data; strategically managing available resources to coordinate multiple shared and individual efforts of offices throughout the Engineering School; and resolving technical issues that may come from sourcing and translating varied data sets.

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with at least six years of experience or a Master's degree with at least two years of experience. Required skills include knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience with SQL and preferred experience in visualization software such as Qlik preferred data.
