Posting Summary:
The School of Medicine's Office of Research Core Administration (ORCA) is currently seeking an experienced Business Manager.

The Business manager provides business administration and operational support on behalf of the Office of Research Core Administration (ORCA) to 15+ core facilities, which operate in a small business research environment, serving a broad community of principal investigators across grounds, and employ 35+ employees. Specific areas of expertise include budget and fiscal administration, personnel management, marketing, and office management.

Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for managing iLab, which provides service request, billing and reporting services for the core facilities supported by ORCA, and for working with the Cancer Center to manage Cancer Center Support Grant activity in cancer center core facilities and aiding in report development to support the Cancer Center's 5-year grant renewal application.

Lastly, the Business Manager will work with high-level stakeholders within the Dean's Office and across grounds. Therefore, the individual must have strong communication skills and the ability to distribute information in a manner that best meets the needs of the end user.

The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in a business related discipline. The qualified candidate must have at least four years of business management and administration and at least two years of supervisory experience is required.

The qualified candidate must also have an understanding of basic accounting principles, knowledge of public sector accounting and budgeting, the ability to multi-task, excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, ability to supervise and lead staff, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to use software to create and modify reports. Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and database software required.

Preferred candidates will have a Master's degree in Business Administration and at least six years of business management/development experience. Experience using Oracle, Clarity, and iLab is also preferred.

This position is restricted and contingent upon the continuation of funding.
