Posting Summary:
The Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking a full-time position as Instructor of Research, Tenure Ineligible, available immediately for a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar interested in Immune mechanisms of acute kidney injury and fibrosis and pulsed ultrasound in acute kidney injury in the laboratory of Dr. Mark Okusa.

In particular Dr. Okusa, is researching the innate and adaptive immunity in acute and chronic kidney injury. Through an understanding of the mechanisms that participate in the early activation and modulation of tissue injury, his research uses developed pharmacological and cell based approaches to block these pathways, and a variety of molecular, cell biological and immunological methods and in vivo models in his studies.

A qualified candidate for this position is expected to have a PhD (in Biochemistry or Experimental Medicine or Molecular Biology or Medical Science or Pharmacology) and a strong interest in EV research and excellent references from PhD or postdoctoral research.
Training and mentoring of undergrad and graduate students as well as others in the lab is expected, therefore teaching experience of more than 1 year is also required. Successful candidates must have effective oral and written communication skills as evidenced by a solid track record of scientific manuscripts and poster presentations.
